3D World - The Magazine For 3D Artists running two competitions where you have the chances to win a copy of V-Ray or an Autodesk Creation Suite.
Contest Details:
Create a piece of artwork for a chance to win a copy of Chaos Group‘s Special Bundle Three in One and get professional-level rendering, worth $1,260 / £1,207.
The V-Ray rendering engine is recognised as an exceptionally stable and powerful tool for the CG industry.
Its reliability, ease of use and speed of rendering are only some of the reasons that make V-Ray a preferred rendering solution for leading architectural and visualisation houses, VFX and film studios and independent 3D artists.
The software’s streamlined architecture, combined with its key features, including distributed rendering, efficient geometry, displacement mapping and physical camera model, make the product extremely competitive on the market.
3D World has teamed up with Chaos Group to offer you the chance win a three-in-one bundle, comprising of V-Ray for 3ds Max, V-Ray RT for 3ds Max and a Pdplayer worth $1,260 / £1,207 (that’s E1,440 at current exchange rates).
The bundle offers you a powerful combination between the V-Ray for 3ds Max production renderer and the interactive rendering engine, V-Ray RT for 3ds Max, topped with the ultimate professional image sequence player and viewer Pdplayer.
The bundle will also be upgraded to V-Ray 2.0 (which includes V-Ray for 3ds Max, V-Ray RT for 3ds Max and V-Ray RT GPU) when it is released and the winner will get the opportunity to be among the first to try it.
To be in with a chance of winning this prize, send us an original piece of work that hasn’t previously won any competitions or awards.
You can use whatever 3D software you like to produce the image and there’s no subject or theme, so there are no limits to what you can create, but if you want to win, you should endeavour to keep it clean!
About the prize
Chaos Group’s V-Ray rendering engine is the top choice because of its ability to produce fast and accurate high-quality images.
This state-of-the-art technology is capable of reducing costs in every production pipeline due to its rendering power and high efficiency. It has been used in a number of large-scale productions, big-screen movies and projects in the architectural, automotive and product design industries.
V-Ray RT is a top-notch raytracing technology which allows immediate interaction between the user and the virtual environment.
It follows the user’s actions while working on the scene and automatically and progressively generates a photorealistic preview of the scene. It is designed to improve the artist’s work in the texturing and lighting stage.
Pdplayer is an extremely lightweight sequence player that allows you to view multiple instances of multiple sequences in an infinite work space.
The product can be used for quality control and composition prototyping. It allows you to set up a composition, blend different layers together, apply colour corrections and so on, and then you can export to a Nuke script, for example, and continue with more complicated compositing there.
