Avid^® announced that it will once again be honored for its innovative technology by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences with an Emmy^® award. The award is for the “Development and Production of Portable Tapeless Acquisition,” which the company created in the mid 1990s with partner Ikegami to improve the way production teams capture and edit video content in the field. The award, which will be presented in a special ceremony in Las Vegas during the CES Convention this week, marks the third Emmy award for Avid within the past 12 months.

The Visual Effects Society (VES), the organization that represents the finest artists and technologists in visual effects worldwide, recently extended by two years the contract for Executive Director, Eric Roth. With the extension, the contract now expires in December, 2013.
