FrameboxxXsheet is a new incubation facility recently launched by Frameboxx Animation & Visual Effects to provide high end, intensive training in Character Animation, a highly sought-after computer skill. The facility has been developed to meet the burgeoning demand for a specialized skill-set as well as training. The training, spread over five months, is designed to incorporate the right balance of Art and Technology. With the help of this training, students can arm themselves fully to take on a full-fledged career in Animation. The training is composed of four levels:

• TERM 1 – Fundamentals / Line of Action/ Thumbnailing

• TERM 2 – Body Mechanics / Animation Principles.

• TERM 3  – Acting

• TERM 4 – Lip-sync / Finishing & Polishing / Demoreel Mentoring

Key Elements of the Program

This high-end training program on Character Animation seeks to train students in the possible way.

Screened Selection of Students: Character Animation is an emerging and exciting field. The Screening Process involves testing genuine candidates with a set of assignments. The Evaluation will be based on the basic timing sense of the student, and one on one interaction with the instructor. This is intended to help gauge the passion and attitude of the student.

Intensive Sketching: This is embedded as a part of the course. This Sketching is developed to help students strike the right balance between Art and Technology.

Bridging the Gap: The Frameboxx core team visited Seneca College, Canada, in 2009-10, for understanding the training process and to find ways for bridging the gap in Animation Training. The course has been augmented with this input.

Visits from Animation Directors from the Industry: Animation Directors will critique on the student’s class progress reels. The feedback and comments of these highly experienced professionals can be invaluable to students.

Mentored Demoreel: This is all about developing a creative story as well displaying animation skills.

Very Strong Focus on Acting for Animation: This part of animation is a must, but is still not emphasized enough in most character animation curriculum.

Excellent Placement Record: The training is designed to ensure proper placement for students in the most stimulating and challenging places.

3D animated Short Film: The most exciting part of the training is to collate all the learning in the form of a 3D animated Short Film. This training is meant for instructing students as to what they should check for in an Animation Program. You can take a look at authentic information about the training before joining, through the Xsheet site.

Speaking with CG Today, Reno Subramaniam, VP - Research - Xsheet says, "There is very little clear-cut information available to students on how to choose the best training course for their needs. Through our training programs, we meet a huge number of students coming to study from small towns, villages and Metro, aiming for a career in animation. But they are often misinformed or misled, since so often, they are novices without any guidance. This is the reason we have started making this information available to all, so they can themselves check and decide".

Says Naveen Gupta, Executive Director, Frameboxx, "The training imparted by Frameboxx is at par with the best training anywhere in the world. Our instructional strategy is backed with the right instructors and a very strong placement record. These assets are responsible for making us the fastest growing animation training company in India. Students are welcome to check our blog. The site is available for anyone to view real and authentic information. You can also view uncut video recordings of our lectures".
