UTV World Movies: Short Film Contest

UTV World Movies has always taken pride in showcasing ‘the world’s greatest movies’, now takes a leap ahead in providing a platform to ‘budding talent’ from across the country. The channel now introduces ‘Premier - The Short Film Competition’ to recognize, handpick and showcase some upcoming talent in the short film segment. The unique initiative is open to amateur and professional film makers alike to create a short film and actually have a chance to showcase it on-air on UTV World Movies. The contest will be judged by an esteemed panel of three renowned directors – Raj Kumar Gupta, Paresh Mokashi and Sooni Taraporevala.

The call for entries starts from 23rd February and will continue till 15th March 2011. All movie enthusiasts from across the country need to upload their entries via a ‘youtube’ link (duration: 10 mins or less) via an entry procedure on the UTV World Movies website. The theme for the contest as the name suggests is ‘Premier – implying First Time Ever’. The jury members will select the best of content from the entries which will then get a chance to be showcased on the UTV World Movies channel. Along with the opportunity of a national screening the winners will also get a once in a lifetime chance to work with Paresh Mokashi.

The channel will promote the contest on air, create visibility on social networking websites and do a special call for entries.
