Technicolor announced it has provided a range of creative services to several theatrical features being presented at the upcoming 2011 Cannes International Film Festival, May 11-22.
"We are honored to have provided a range of production and postproduction services to some of the most anticipated films of the Festival. Cannes has become a major event for which Technicolor continues to reconfirm its position as a key partner to the media and entertainment industry. We look forward to seeing all these images on the big screen, and we wish a lot of success to all the features being presented at this year’s Festival,” said Ahmad Ouri, CMO of Technicolor. Technicolor provided numerous services to Paolo Sorrentino’s This Must Be the Place, including front end negative processing, dailies, postproduction and sound services. For this feature, Technicolor also provided color correction, graphics for end titles, and 35mm show prints for the Cannes Film Festival. Technicolor contributed 4K film-out and a digital cinema master for Gus Van Sant’s Restless, which has been selected to open the “Un Certain Regard” category of the festival.
Finally, Technicolor provided services for Sean Durkin’s Martha Marcy May Marlene including front-end, dailies, digital intermediates and film-out services; and Rob Marshall’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (out of competition) include visual effects, French language dubbing, International theatrical release printing, compression & authoring, subtitling and DVD and Blu-ray Disc™ replication and distribution services.
