Future of Driving

Digital production studio Digital Domain was tapped by RSA director Carl Erik Rinsch to help Dodge envision what the future holds for those who love to drive. Via ad agency Wieden + Kennedy Portland, the cinematic :60 spot "The Future of Driving" imagines a sci-fi universe where humans allow robots to brush our teeth and walk our dogs -- but refuse to hand over the keys to our cars. Digital Domain created this futuristic world, including its technologies, machines and cityscapes. The spot premiered online in mid-April.

LA 3D Movie FestivalThe Stereo Club of Southern California announced the dates for the 8th Annual Los Angeles 3-D Movie Festival, to be held on Saturday, May 14th and Sunday, May 15th, 2011, at the Downtown Independent Theater. The festival will showcase a selection of over twenty-five international 3D shorts in competition.

IT@SchoolThe state-owned IT@School Project in Kerala is all set to empower at least 3,000 schoolchildren with animation movie-making skills.

Students in Class 8 and 9 will get preference in getting animation training, based on Free and Open Source Software.

K. Anvar Sadath, executive director, IT@School Project and ViCTERS educational channel, said the first phase of the training would be imparted to more than 700 selected students in the state next month.
