Visual Metaphors Help Convey Superhero’s Intriguing Back Story

Yu+co - Green Lantern Stereoscopic Title SequenceLooking to visually communicate the mythology of ''The Green Lantern'' in a compelling way, studio Warner Bros. and director Martin Campbell turned to multi-disciplined creative design/visual effects studio yU+co, led by Creative Director Garson Yu, to design a :90 stereoscopic 3D main title sequence that not only grabbed the audience’s attention, but also brought them up to speed on the superhero’s history and set up the film’s first scene. 

yU+co also created the film’s stereoscopic 3D main-on-end sequence and credit crawl, along with the main title and main-on-end sequences for this summer’s blockbuster, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Shannon Benna Becomes Hollywood's First Female Feature Film Stereographer, with work on "A Haunting in Salem 3D"

Shannon Benna, an independent producer and creative director specializing in emerging technologies and entertainment media production, has become Hollywood's "First Female Feature Film Stereographer" through her work on Global Asylum's upcoming 3D feature film "A Haunting In Salem." With credits that span traditional film, TV, and interactive content production, Ms. Benna served as On-Set Stereographer during the entire production of that project.

Digital Domain LogoDigital production company Digital Domain announced today that Jeff Barnes, co-founder and former CEO of The Computer Café Group, has joined the company to lead its In-Three stereo conversion business. In his new role as vice president and general manager of stereo visual effects production, Barnes will work with filmmakers to optimize stereo 3D digital production from start to finish.

Digital Domain's parent company, Digital Domain Media Group, acquired In-Three in 2010 to integrate Dimensionalization technology into Digital Domain's visual effects and digital production services and to offer new 2D-to-3D conversion services.
