Creative Reel Honors Inspiring Animated Work from Animation Mentor Students Around the World

Animation mentor - Student Showcase 2011Animation Mentor, the leading online character animation school created by animators for animators, has released "Student Showcase 2011: Back to Basics" featuring creative work from its students around the world. Fans of the Student Showcase will definitely note a different look. Unlike past showcase editions, this year's Student Showcase is a compilation of work that goes back to the basics of character animation. The 2011 showcase has been purposely stripped of all layers, backdrops and textures — thereby shining the spotlight squarely on the character animation. The overall effect pays homage to 1920s Hollywood — a time when the character was truly king.

"Every year, I'm moved by the dedication and creativity that comes out of our program," said Bobby Beck, CEO and cofounder of Animation Mentor. "Our students have a great passion for their work that is inspiring and contagious. It is incredible to watch our students not only become character animators — but actors. We feel honored to help our students make their dreams come true!"

The shots featured in the Student Showcase demonstrate Animation Mentor students' mastery of animation principles and their ability to excite an audience by bringing the emotions of their characters to life. Inclusion in the Student Showcase is a well-respected honor for the Animation Mentor graduate and is a trusted resource for studios seeking new talented artists. As a result of the caliber of student work in the showcase, many graduates go on to work on a range of feature films, television and video games.

In celebration of the release of the 2011 showcase, Animation Mentor is launching a trivia contest to award free tuition to Class One of the Character Animation Program. To view the Student Showcase 2011 reel and learn more about the trivia contest, visit AnimationMentor.com/Showcase2011.
