Europe's Largest VFX Facility Purchases Site License for Over 800 Digital Artists
Shotgun Software, developers of the Shotgun web-based production tracking and collaboration system, announced that Double Negative has purchased a global Shotgun site license for its facilities in London and Singapore. Double Negative is Europe's largest provider of visual effects for film.
Said Matt Holben, CEO, Double Negative, “The Shotgun team is building the tools our staff wants to use and a framework that keeps us as agile and efficient while we grow. This is a strategic business investment we expect to deliver big returns over the coming years.”
Double Negative will integrate Shotgun into its in-house project management tools and then start to use it project by project. The studio has recently contributed visual effects for a number of summer tentpoles, including “Inception,” “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1,” “Iron Man 2,” “Prince of Persia: Sands of Time,” “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.”
“We have been watching Shotgun closely for years and found ourselves checking off boxes next to our list of requirements for the ideal production tracking tool,” shared Double Negative CTO David Scott. “It is abundantly clear that the Shotgun team gets production and is building Shotgun for companies like Double Negative. We are looking forward to helping them take it to the next level.”
“We are big fans of Double Negative and the work they do, and are very pleased to have their support,” said Don Parker, Shotgun’s CEO. “We have an aggressive roadmap planned for the coming years and look forward to collaborating with the Dneg team to make sure we hit the mark.”
