iMomConnect, LLC announced today the release of their Over in the Meadow Animated Storybook Application, a classic children's poem which is now brought to life using animation, audio and colorful graphics as a children's book application on the iPad. This educational and entertaining app helps children count from 1 to 10 and learn the sounds of various animals.

Elephant Strategy + Design’s founder director and principal designer Ashwini Deshpande has been empanelled on the jury of the first LG Cubes Design Innovation Awards in India, meant to award innovative ideas in Product Design.

DSK ISD, the first truly international design school, announced today that they will be holding Masterclasses program featuring as many as 8 internationally known design professionals.  This program will allow students, young budding designers and professionals alike to learn about international trends and tools employed in the global markets.  The Masterclasses program will be organised from 15th to 19th November, 2010 at the DSK Supinfocom International Campus in Pune and will include:

Accel Transmatic Ltd (ATL), a listed company in BSE, which has one of the fastest growing animation company in India has recorded a revenue growth of 58 % at Rs 613 Lakhs in the quarter ended as on 30th September, 2010, on a consolidated basis compared to Rs 389 Lakhs in the corresponding quarter in the previous year. The company made a nominal profit Rs 17.87 Lakhs as against a loss of Rs 146 Lakhs for the corresponding quarter in the previous year.

Accel Animation Studios, a division of ATL had posted revenue of Rs 131 Lakhs for the quarter ended as on 30th September, 2010, up by 21% from Rs 102 Lakhs in the corresponding previous period.

In a bid to hasten the growth of the local animation industry, the Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI) is bringing its upcoming 4th annual Philippine Animation Festival called Animahenasyon to Bicol, particularly Naga City in Camarines Sur—one of several emerging talent hotspots for this sunshine industry.

Animahenasyon is the flagship project of ACPI and seeks to build an audience base, increase their awareness, and showcase original Filipino animated works through a multi-category competition for both aspiring and professional animators in the country.

This year, Animahenasyon is co-presented by Ateneo de Naga University and will be held in this premier 3D animation school that’s among the first institutions to offer an undergraduate major in digital illustration and animation. More than 500 participants are expected to grace the event from November 23 to 26 with almost 150 entries competing for the various competition categories.
